BUILT TO POSITIONS: The Nikon D780 has everything photographers and filmers expect from a high-end DSLR - and more. In addition to an extremely light-sensitive 24-megapixel CMOS BSI sensor in FX format, it has two high-precision auto-focus systems that allow sensational tracking performance to safely track eyes in crowds. In addition, the camera has an ISO range of 100 – 51,200, which can be extended to ISO 50 to ISO 204,800, making sensational results possible even in low light. The optical viewfinder offers an ultra-sharp view of the motif and its large tilting monitor with approx. 2.36 million Images inspired for creative play with perspectives. Thanks to its ergonomically designed body, the dust and water resistant magnesium alloy housing and its long battery life, it proves to be a robust and durable companion anywhere.

With HDMI output, 10-bit N log and HLG support, the D780 offers multiple options for transferring and editing video data. Thanks to SnapBridge and built-in Wi-Fi, it also allows the permanent connection to a smart device as well as the transfer of images and films to computer.

Hybrid autofocus with 273 measuring fields and special eye AF

A new level of flexibility and precision: The D780 uses two high-precision autofocus systems. In live view mode, it uses a hybrid AF with single field control, whose 273 measuring fields safely capture motif structures in horizontal and vertical orientation. Depending on your needs, the camera uses the phase or contrast AF to perfectly track the sharpness even on small and unpredictably moving objects. In addition, the camera has a special eye AF that makes it possible to capture exceptional portraits. Even in crowds, it ensures safe recognition and tracking of faces and eyes. When shooting through the optical viewfinder, the D780 uses an AF system with 51 measuring fields, which has 15 cross sensors in the centre. Objects that move unpredictably are reliably captured by it, so that action-packed image series are possible at any time with continuous sharpness.

Impressive performance where others already pack: Thanks to highly effective noise reduction algorithms, the Nikon D780 offers an ISO range of 100 - 51,200 that can even expand (from Lo 1 in accordance with ISO 50 to Hi 2 in accordance with ISO 204,800). Even in low light, the autofocus reliably captures every detail and you can achieve exceptionally clear and high-resolution recordings both at dusk and at night. You are also equipped for particularly dark situations: In M mode, you can choose exposure times of up to 900 seconds.

Or capture motion sequences in high-speed photo burst - the D780 allows continuous shooting at up to 7 frames per second, with tracked autofocus and auto exposure. In silent mode (live view), up to 12 frames per second are possible.

Connectivity through SnapBridge and built-in WiFi

The Nikon D780 is compatible with SnapBridge - an app that connects the camera to your smart device. Once you have installed SnapBridge* on your smart device, Bluetooth allows permanent connection and an automatic image transfer to your smart device, either immediately after recording or later. With each picture, the camera receives information from the smart device about location, date and time of recording. Thanks to SnapBridge, you can also use your smart device as a remote control. The D780 can also be connected to a PC via built-in Wi-Fi to transfer JPEG/RAW images immediately after recording via the STATION and BASESTATION modes. This supports transfer rates of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. The optional wireless LAN adapter WT-7 allows wireless or wired connections over long distances.
